Guatemala, May 31st 2023: The Mario L\u00f3pez Estrada Foundation, through the “Farmer to Farmer<\/a>” program from “Partner of the Americas”, has set into motion an important proyect in Chiantla, Huehuetenango, with the goal to fight chronic child malnutrition in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Nutrition for Prosperity<\/a>” initiative seeks to improve quality of life in the local communities, specifically in the seven localities of Chochal, Potreros, Los Hern\u00e1ndez, Cinco Arrollos, Los Gregorios, Los Mecates e Ixcamal, all situated in the middle basin of the municipality. 350 families with high malnutrition index would benefit from this program, giving them access to pasteurized goat milk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since wednesday may 31st 2023, the Mario L\u00f3pez Estrada Foundation has began the daily donation of nearly a thousand glasses of pasteurized goat milk, intended for the intake by children under 5 years of age and pregnant mothers. This valuable contribution aims to provide the essential nutrients that these vulnerable groups need for a healthy development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This donation adds to the efforts of the “Farmer to Farmer” program in the aforementioned communities. The medium-term goal of this program is to reduce chronic malnutrition rates and ensure a more promising future for families, with the hope of reducing irregular migration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mario L\u00f3pez Estrada Foundation reaffirms its commitment to continue working in the municipality of Chiantla, Huehuetenango, with the fundamental objective of combating chronic malnutrition in children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
