Aurora L\u00f3pez was born in 1987, she is a Guatemalan who graduated with a BA in economics from Duke University. and also holds a certificate in marketing and management as well as a minor in photography from Duke University itself. She holds a certificate in film production from the New York Film Academy. She speaks English, Spanish, French and German.<\/p>\n

Aurora L\u00f3pez\u00b4s father founded Grupo Onyx in 1967, one of the most important business groups in the country and focuses on direct investments, renewable energy generation, consumer product distribution, digital services and commercial and industrial real estate developments in Guatemala and Paraguay.<\/p>\n

Aurora L\u00f3pez has worked in the investment committee of the business group, in defining the investment policy, performance monitoring and investment approval. Within the framework of the board of directors, she has worked on the approval of the annual budget of the consortium, on the monthly monitoring of budget execution and on the monthly operational monitoring.<\/p>\n

Aurora L\u00f3pez actively participates in the foundations of the business group, which develop educational and health projects mainly aimed at vulnerable populations throughout the country.<\/p>\n

Aurora contributed to the creation of the Fundaci\u00f3n \u201cDesarrolla Guatemala\u201d in 2016, which provides advice and support in the mission of cultivating a dynamic and ethical research ecosystem to support development and impact initiatives that are based on evidence.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Aurora is an Ambassador to Guatemala for the David Lynch Foundation, which contributes to the creation of infrastructure for teachers of transcendental meditation in Guatemala, as well as runs a pilot program of teaching transcendental meditation in public schools.<\/p>\n

Aurora was the first representative and coordinator in Guatemala of the Mental Health Research, RedeAmericas, a regional network funded by the National Institute of Mental Health of the United States government, for mental health research in Latin America. Aurora was responsible for conceptualizing and executing a survey group on the knowledge of Mayan models of mental health in Tecp\u00e1n, Guatemala.<\/p>\n

She also organized a forum with researchers from Latin America and the United States, which was held in Tecp\u00e1n. Aurora also presented the mental health situation in Guatemala at the World Health Organization in Peru. Aurora was also selected to make a presentation at the 5th World Congress of Cultural Psychiatry held at the Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In 2014, she founded the Mirador Store in New York, a clothing and accessories store in Greenwich Village, NY.<\/p>\n

In 2011, she was Deputy Vice President of Credit Suisse Private Banking in New York, where, among others, she was responsible for managing the external managers platform for the Latin American division. She was part of the team that supported the due diligence of all managers within the platform and was an absolute and comparative performance analyst for all managers. She assisted financial advisors in building platforms for clients in the High Net Worth segment, adjusted to liquidity, return and risk needs. And she was responsible for automating the MPI reporting tool.<\/p><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
